The For The Long Run October Newsletter

Getting back to basics…and updates on our partners!

Wait, it’s already almost November? Time flies this time of year for sure… it’ll be 2025 before we know it.

My Strava progress chart looks the most consistent it has been pretty much all year, and after quite a lot of summer travel, it feels so good to get into a routine back in Boulder again. The miles are picking up and I’m getting OH SO CLOSE to putting a goal race on the calendar again. I can’t decide if it’s going to be one mile or more than 30 miles… If you’ve got something on the calendar in the Mountain West (or California/PNW) between November and March, hit me up with recommendations!!

I’ve mostly just been running easy miles and kicking things up when it feels good (and hitting my strides, of course!), but there has been a workout or two thrown in there recently as well.

We’ve welcomed a few new brands to the FTLR family in the last couple of weeks, and with the turning of the clock to November, will welcome a couple more which we’ll preview here. As a reminder, it takes a lot to put out consistent content like we do here at FTLR, and supporting these brands helps make it all possible. I always only share stuff that I’ve vetted and love! 🤗

We are kicking off a partnership with Lake County Tourism AKA Leadville (and Twin Lakes) which I’m super excited about! My iPhone tells me I have 800 pieces of content from Leadville/Lake County on it already, as we’ve been going up to Leadville for a few years now. While it’s well known for the summer adventures around the Leadville 100 (run and MTB), we also love it in the winter!! There are so many awesome places to cross-country ski, amazing restaurants, awesome hiking, skijoring down the main road (look it up!!!) and so much more. Follow along over on Instagram and YouTube to see our updates coming soon on all things Lake County.

We also welcomed Go Brewing (an award-winning non-alcoholic beer brand) to the party, which is essential because even a single beer at high altitudes like Leadville can leave you feeling not super awesome.

And the good stuff keeps on rolling… MadeGood is a recent but new favorite snack. You can learn more about them in an upcoming episode with their founder Salma, as we talk about the intersection of entrepreneurship (they’ve grown to a $150M in revenue brand!) and endurance!

Fuel Goods, an Asheville, NC-based brand is joining the mix as well! Fuel Goods is a sports nutrition marketplace that helps you understand and purchase what you need to power your training. I’ve partnered with them to create a couple boxes of my favorite snacks and fuel, and if you’ve ever wanted a FTLR branded hat, now’s your chance! One of the boxes has one - more to come soon so be on the look out for an announcement soon!

This month, Molly Seidel joins us again on the show and it was a true banger of a conversation. Molly comes with her honesty and vulnerability and shares her struggles in running over the past few years.

In this episode, Molly and I chat about how injuries impact her mental health, learning how to define herself beyond just running, the differences between short-term and long-term goals, and her overall love for the sport.

You’re not going to want to miss this one, y’all.👇
