Learning to surf 🏄♂️
Well, so it goes with running sometimes. It’s not about avoiding the waves; it's about learning to surf.

Weeeeeeee
Today’s the Tuesday after Memorial Day, and for the last few years, dating back to 2018, I’d normally be recovering from a hard 10k race at BolderBoulder, often followed by a fun lap, for a very fun 15+ mile day.
My training had been going super well up until two Thursdays ago. I ran 4x1 mile at 6:09 average (in crazy wind), 6x5 minutes at one hour effort the week prior, and a 15-mile long run at 7:15 average the weekend prior. Things were clicking.

I got a little greedy and doubled that Thursday evening, after sitting down post-workout and not moving from my desk for 3+ hours the rest of that morning. I should have known better… Like Shakira says, hips don’t lie!
I’ve got big plans ahead this summer so instead of risking it for a short term win, I took a couple days off running and am hoping that I can squash this before it becomes a real problem.
I’ve got a big summer ahead… more to come on that in the next couple of weeks, but I’ll be out in Tahoe in a few weeks for Broken Arrow, TrailCon (moderating a panel on "The Professionalization of Trail Running Teams”) and Western States the following weekend. If you’ll be out at any of that, please let me know! Would love to meet up.
I’ve been working with an athlete here in Boulder who is launching something awesome next week… make sure you’re following along on IG, as you’ll likely see the news shared there first!
In the meantime, it has been beautiful here in Boulder so far this spring/early summer, and I can’t wait to get back out for some more adventures soon!

Creativity takes courage.
I so appreciate all of your amazing support, from listening to the podcast, to the DMs on IG, using brand partner discount codes, and the thoughtful replies to these emails. Every little bit helps and is so awesome.
I’m excited to share even more fun with you all this summer!!

No-Jargon Shoe Review 👟
We're back with another No Jargon Shoe Review, this time with the PUMA MagMax, at $180. I really like this shoe!
We started these no-jargon shoe reviews because we were sick of hearing these VERY industry-term heavy shoe reviews that don't really make a lot of sense to the average runner. These are for the people who don't know all the lingo or jargon in the running shoe world.
